To the many unnamed daughters who behind the curtains are silently hurting inside, may I remind you today that as a single woman to “Never view yourself as an Accident or Unwanted.”
Jephthah’s unnamed daughter, I wonder how she put up with everything, watching life pass her by as her friends got married one by one and had children of their own. She was an only child so I would think she grew up dreaming of getting married and having a family. I can only imagine the hurt she may have had, finding out that she would never have what she dreamt of. No doubt she probably never imagined being categorized as a single woman for the rest of her life.
I know there are times that we may feel that, this season of singleness seems like a slow motion movie on life been played out right before you, watching everyone else around you, find love, get married and have children, while you take the reserve bench waiting.
The journey we take may be a long lonely one, and while everything around you seems to indirectly tell you that you are not wanted, I pray that you do not fall into despair. When the why questions seem to que up on you, I’d like you to know and remember that God made you for a reason. While this season may be the longest waiting season ever, Jesus said he will never leave you.
Even as you wait and those insecurities start to creep up on you slowly, stand in front of that mirror, smile your beautiful smile and remind yourself that your God purposely and intricately designed every fine detail of you and declared that you are fearfully and wonderfully made. He has always had you and your best interest at heart and He will continue to cater for you.
Be rest assured, you are never alone, you are loved and you are smiled upon, why? Because God said in Isaiah 44:2 “Thus says the LORD who made you And formed you from the womb, who will help you” (The Woman’s Study Bible NKJV)
You are loved by God and in Him you have all things.
